Did you know that entrepreneurs and small business owners might qualify for Florida- based financial support through one of a couple of different programs in the state?

Microfinance Loan Program

The Microfinance Loan Program is a short term loan program. They offer loans of up to $50,000. Your business might qualify if it has no more than 25 employees and your gross annual revenues don’t exceed $1.5 million. This loan program works through administrators selected by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. If you are selected to receive a loan, you are required to participate in business training and technical assistance provided by the Florida SBDC Network. This network is skilled at finding businesses in the state access to working capital. Florida Opportunity Fund

The Florida Opportunity Fund works with lenders and other outside organizations. The Florida Opportunity Fund is sponsored by Enterprise Florida. This fund helps startup and early-stage small businesses get capital from one of a few sources. For example, it might help you find capital through a state-run venture capital fund, or it might help you find capital from through other means like venture capital funds that invest in individual businesses.
