The Marathon Seafood Festival was founded four decades ago by commercial fishermen. The Florida Keys has a couple other seafood festivals at least, but this is coined the “Original Marathon Seafood Festival.” It’s coming to Marathon March 9th and 10th. It’s the oldest seafood festival in the Florida Keys. Members of the Organized Fishermen of Florida catch and cook the seafood at the Marathon Seafood Festival. It’s grown to become the second most visited festival in the Keys. Only the Key West Fancy Fest sees more visitors. The Marathon Seafood Festival has expanded to include a fine art show, a boat show, games, booths for vendors, and rides! The event is expected to bring around 25,000 people to Marathon.
The most popular choices are the Florida lobster dinner, stone crab, shrimp, chowder and conch fritters. They will literally go through over 50 gallons of conch chowder that weekend. Plus, you’ll find kegs of beer, jugs of wine, coleslaw, and Key lime pie, the way it was meant to be made.
The Marathon Seafood Festival will also offer raffle giveaways and other prizes! The price of admission has generally been around $5 in previous years.

This year, Tito Puente Jr. and his band will headline the event, according to the festival’s website. The entertainment line-up includes the following:
